Race organisers say they have received more than 10 000 entries from local and international riders for this year's event. Cyclists will take part in either the 35, 65 or 106-kilometre routes, with the finish line at Suncoast Casino and Entertainment World.

The event is expected to generate a cash-injection of close onto R100-million for the provincial economy.

Melissa Felt  - is with the organising team. She says entries close at 4pm.

"I have had a lot of late entries. I had a guy from the UK saying he is coming in late. I have quite a few other late internationals", she said.

"We do have people coming from as far as Norway so our numbers are expected to be around just under 11 000 cyclists and everyone is super excited", Felt said.
