Corruption is a threat to SA's democracy, says Ramaphosa

President Cyril Ramaphosa says corruption could ultimately destroy the African National Congress (ANC).
He says the scourge has caused factions in the party that is threatening unity.
Ramaphosa was speaking against corruption within the party at Raymond Mhlaba's memorial lecture in Vryheid on Sunday.
Mhlaba was a struggle stalwart and founding member of the ANC's uMkhonto Wesizwe.

Ramapahosa says corruption is a grave threat to the advancement of the country's democracy.
"These undermine economic and social development and also erode democratic practices. They dis-empower our citizens and weaken the national liberation movement."
"Corruption and the associated phenomenon of state capture are obstacles to the achievement of radical economic transformation."
