Correctional Services dept investigating attempted prison escape
An investigation into the attempted escape of the notorious inmate Ananius Mathe at the country's most secure correctional center, is almost complete.
This has been revealed by the KZN Department of Correctional Services.
Last week, the serial rapist tried to escape from the Ebongweni C-Max Prison in Kokstad - but he was caught by warders on time.
The departments's Thulani Mdhuli says they will have a full report of what transpired during this incident.
"We always ensure that we tighten-up our security in all our centres in the province of KZN," he said.
