Cogta in KZN prioritises safety of voters
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
The Co-operative Governance Department in KZN says they will be deploying their rapid response teams to areas identified as hotspots in the province in the run up to and during the Local Government Elections in August.
The department yesterday briefed the media in Durban saying it's all systems go for the August 3 polls.
While MEC Nomusa Dube Ncube hasn't named the hotspots, she says contingency plans are in place to deal with all incidents of voter intimidation.
''We continue to respond to each and every incident, we continue to ensure that all the stakeholders are engaged in a dialogue of a view of dealing with miscommunication or disagreement that might be there amongst the various stakeholders,'' she said.
