Cogta intervenes at Umsunduzi

Cooperative Governance has stepped in to the matter of ongoing power cuts at the Umsunduzi local municipality.
Various areas under the municipality have been experiencing disruptions alleged to be an act of sabotage by a handful of disgruntled employees.
This has meant that thousands of households and local business have been in an out of darkness.

Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs', Msawakhe Mayisela, says they have been working closely with the municipality to try find an end to the power cuts.
"We are also calling upon our workers at municipal level, all over the province, that in the event of grievances, they must not embark in violent means and acts of sabotage, in order to draw attention but they must follow the right channels to raise their concerns, because embarking through violent means is not going to be a solution," he said.
