Classes set to resume at DUT

Classes at the Durban University of Technology are set to resume this morning following several days of protests that forced the suspension of academic activities.
The attack occurred inside a lecture hall.
Ndlovu remains in hospital.

DUT management says the academic programme cannot be suspended any further, as most students have tests and assessments and are preparing for final exams.Management has also dismissed suggestions they have not been helping police with their investigation.
They say footage of Ndlovu's movements before the stabbing has been handed over to detectives, but there is no footage of the time he was attacked.

DUT says management has been meeting regularly with the SRC since Friday to discuss their concerns, including students' demand for the current security company to be removed.It says it is in the final stages of procuring security services. The new provider is expected to be announced in about six weeks' time.
The institution believes internal and external groups with hidden agendas are trying to destabilise the university.
