Children among 21 saved from Durban CBD fire

Emergency response teams say children, including toddlers, were among those saved from a burning building in the Durban CBD.
Paramedics rushed to the multi-storey property on the corner of Joe Slovo and Anton Lembede Streets on Tuesday after reports that a fire had broken out.
ER24's Ineke van Huyssteen says they were told that a creche was being run on one of the floors.
She says eThekwini Fire and Metro Police Search and Rescue managed to contain the flames and helped with evacuations.

"The Fire Dept as well as Metro Police Search and Rescue managed to contain the fire and brought all the patients safely out of the building. Once outside, paramedics immediately assessed fifteen adults and six children for any injuries.
"Fortunately, no serious injuries were found."
Twenty-one people, including six children, were treated, mostly for smoke inhalation.
Two adults were taken to hospital.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
