After a week of clues and chaos, a R30-000 fugitive winner says the prize has given her a reason to smile again, following a difficult few months.

Thirty-five-year-old Ludfia Munsamy spent Friday under the scorching sun in Chatsworth, driving around in search of the fugitive.

She was joined by her five-year-old daughter, who helped her with the search.

Munsamy says there were times when she wanted to give up, but her husband kept encouraging her and sending messages with possible clues.

The Moment She Finally Spotted the Fugitive

She says after spotting the fugitive and asking the famous question, the fugitive disappeared from sight - and she knew she had won.

"And my husband and I have both said October is going to bring this newness and this new breath and this new fresh air and this new blessing that's coming our way. We don't know what it is but it's coming. It's the new month."

"It's a new opportunity. And with this on the 2nd of October, the second day in the new month, I can't fathom what has gone on, but I knew this was a sign and I knew this was a blessing that came from God."

A R30,000 Win Brings Back Her Smile

Munsamy also says this is her first time winning a competition.

She says she is now looking forward to giving herself and her family a well-deserved rest. "  I'm planning our December holiday.

"This money is going directly to our December holiday. My daughter will be off from school. I'll be off from work. My husband will also be on leave."

Munsamy said it will be a time for her and her family to shut down, unwind, recharge, "Be thankful for the year that has passed, and look forward to the new year that's coming.

So I'm definitely using it for our December holiday, and we're going to have an amazing time."
