'Catastrophic' fuel price hikes predicted for November
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Massive fuel price hikes could be on the cards next month.
The Automobile Association says the increases could be catastrophic.
It's predicting petrol to cost 99 cents more a litre.
It would be a 30 percent hike since January.
The AA's Layton Beard says based on current data, diesel and illuminating paraffin are expected to go up by R1.42 a litre.
"The hikes in diesel and illuminating paraffin would be the largest in South African history, bearing in mind that this is only based on half a month's data. R20 a litre for petrol is now a realistic scenario before the end of 2021."
