Cape to Cairo cyclist still going strong

A Capetonian who has been cycling for over 50 days hopes to fulfil the Cape to Cairo challenge for a cause.

Gavin Sinclair has teamed up with the Red Cross to cycle from Cape Town to Cairo, Egypt in raising funds for orphaned and vulnerable children.


The 42-year-old has cycled through the Western and Eastern Cape is currently on the KZN leg of the challenge and will navigate his way towards Swaziland and Mozambique.    


He says the adventure has been well received. 


"I've had liberating experiences along the way - personally and spiritually. I've met the most hospitable people and people opening up their hearts when they hear about my cause. 


"I've cycled along the shores and Wild Coast - I've seen such incredible beauty," he said.
