The third term got underway this week

The association's Vee Gani says parents have expressed deep concern for their children's safety following the violence and unrest earlier this month.

He has called on parents to reject the campaign of fearmongering through messages online.

Gani says no incidents of violence or disturbances have been reported since schools reopened on Monday.

"There are some concerns from parents and these concerns from the parents arise from the fact that there have been a number of WhatsApp messages, memes and voice notes that was infiltrating into communities that was talking about the security and safety of the learners.

"I want to caution those people that are spreading these malicious gossips and messages to stop doing that because at the end of the day, they are fearmongering and parents are becoming excited, concerned and fearful."
