Boy killed after being mistaken for monkey

An elderly man, accused of shooting a young boy, is due to appear in the Umzinto Magistrates Court on a charge of murder.
Bongumusa Duma was shot and killed after he was apparently mistaken for a monkey.
It's believed the boy from the Dabe Ward was climbing a guava tree on the man's property.

Police spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says the suspect was arrested at the scene in the Braemar area on Sunday.
"It is alleged a 12-year-old boy when he was allegedly shot and killed. An 87-year-old man was arrested and charged," he said.
