Boy, 4, dies in drowning incident at Scottburgh Beach

A four-year-old boy has died after drowning while swimming at a Lagoon on Scottburgh Beach on the South Coast.
His little lifeless body was found floating upside down in the water by other beach-goers who then alerted lifeguards.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst says CPR had already been initiated when paramedics arrived.

"Upon arrival of medics, a full advanced life support resuscitation was initiated. Sadly the patient's condition deteriorated, and he was declared deceased on the scene. "
