A teenager has drowned in a public pool in KwaMashu north of Durban.
KZN Emergency Medical Service's Robert McKenzie says it is believed the 15-year-old boy had been swimming in G-section this afternoon when the incident happened.
''Paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services responded to the case and found lifeguards performing CPR on the child, however, sadly he did not respond to treatment.
''He was declared dead at the scene. The exact circumstances resulting in the drowning are not known at this stage,'' he said.
Authorities are investigating the drowning.
