Bluff Oxford Freshmarket begins COVID-19 testing of staff

Mass screening and testing of employees at the Oxford Freshmarket Bluff store will be conducted today.

This after a teller tested positive for the Coronavirus.

Owner, Brett Latimer says the employee who appeared to have a cold - came to work this week and told a supervisor that she was not feeling well. 

Latimer says a manager was immediately informed and the worker was sent to hospital.

He says they were informed yesterday afternoon, that she had tested positive for Coronavirus and immediately closed the store.

Latimer says a private lab will test staff.

“A fair number of our staff on hand will be screened and the balance will be screened throughout the day as when they arrive,” Latimer said.

He continued, “We have been in touch with the head of Wentworth Hospital, they will be coming later on to advise us on what to do.”

South Africa currently has 3636 confirmed cases of the virus while there has been 65 COVID-19 related deaths recorded.
