Bail hearing for Andile Mbuthu's murder suspects continues
Updated | By Newswatch
The bail hearing of the suspects accused of the murder of a Tongaat teenager is expected to continue on Wednesday.
Mlungisi Thabete, Andile Nhleko, Mncedisi Mzobe, Siyanda Msweli, Lindani Ndlovu, and Malusi Mthembu were arrested last month as police divers and other emergency services scoured a river in Hambanathi to retrieve remains - believed to have been those of Andile 'Bobo' Mbuthu.
The 16-year-old was allegedly kidnapped and severely assaulted – after being accused of stealing liquor from a tavern.
DNA test results confirmed last week that the remains were Andile's. He was laid to rest on Sunday.

Bail proceedings for six of the accused began on Tuesday in the Verulam Magistrate's Court.
The NPA's Natasha Kara says the seventh suspect – who's a minor - will appear next week.
"The juvenile accused in this matter has previously abandoned his application for bail. This accused is back in court on 8 June."
