Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
A baby has been found floating in the Durban Harbour.
Workers at a container terminal spotted the body in the water on Thursday morning and alerted authorities.
Life Response 24/7 spokesperson, Leon Fourie says their rescue unit members and those from the eThekwini Metro Police had to swim out to retrieve the body.
"When we got the body, we brought it up, and we found that the infant was approximately three months of age. It is unclear at this stage how the infant landed up in the Harbour."
"Durban harbour police, along with port authorities were on scene, but you can see that the baby has been in the water for a few days," he said.
