Baby elephant rescue caught on camera

Video footage of an elephant calf being rescued from a poacher's snare in a game reserve in Empangeni has captured the hearts of all animal lovers. Watch it here.
A five-week-old baby elephant - who is one of 29 calves - was darted and trapped by a poacher's snare in the Thula Thula Game Reserve.
A helicopter, security team and vet were quickly deployed to the area where the calf had been trapped.
Video footage, captured by Saving the Wild founder Jamie Joseph, shows a herd of elephants escaping the thundering noise of the helicopter before the camera pans to the animal lying helpless on the ground.
The calf has since been reunited with its mother.
