Andrew Mlangeni admitted to hospital

The only surviving Rivonia Trialist, Andrew Mlangeni, has been admitted to hospital.
The 95-year-old Mlangeni was admitted to One Military Hospital in Thaba Tshwane in the south of the capital, on 14 July.
President Cyril Ramaphosa and the African National Congress (ANC) have both sent out their messages of support, wishing Mlangeni a speedy recovery.
“President Ramaphosa, who participated in Bab’Mlangeni’s 95th birthday celebration on 6 June, wishes Bab’Mlangeni a comfortable recovery and extends his best wishes to the veteran’s family and comrades,” says Presidency spokesperson Khusela Diko.

ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe also wished Mlangeni a speedy recovery.
“He serves as our conscience and fountain of wisdom as we continue to navigate the many challenges that confront our movement and nation.
“Get well soon, Tata!”
Mlangeni spent over 20 years on Robben Island after he was convicted during the Rivionia trial in 1964.
