ANC urges angry communities to follow due process

The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal is urging residents to follow due process should they be unsatisfied with candidates elected by the party to run for councillors in the upcoming local government elections.
The call comes after a number of violent protests erupted over the removal of councillor candidates in Isithebe, Mandeni, Folweni, and most recently Claremont and Copesville in Pietermaritzburg.
The party's spokesperson Mdumiseni Ntuli says they are discouraging violent protests.

"What we are discouraging is a mobilisation of the community against an ANC process. I think the community must afford the ANC branch an opportunity to come to a community meeting and present to them those that were nominated by the ANC membership," he said.
