ANC rocked by more eThekwini drama

With the ANC rocked by more political drama, the party's KwaZulu-Natal leadership says its attention is on the Zandile Gumede matter this morning.
The Provincial Working Committee will communicate what it is going to do soon.
Gumede's shock move comes just as Transport MEC Mxolisi Kaunda was due to be sworn in as eThewkini mayor today.
eThekwini released a statement yesterday, indicating that today's ceremony was postponed because there were not enough agenda items to convene the meeting.
However it is now understood that the meeting was moved due to Gumede's withdrawal of her resignation.
Gumede's supporters told Newswatch the entire redeployment was just an effort to remove her from office, saying she was the victim.
Durban's embattled former mayor withdrew her resignation letter two days after the party said she had given notice of her intention to step down.
