ANC to meet over #ZandileGumede debacle

Senior ANC members from Luthuli House will meet the party's KwaZulu-Natal's leadership today to discuss Zandile Gumede's refusal to go.
The axed eThekwini Mayor withdrew her resignation last week, on the eve of a council meeting to elect and swear in the City's new leadership.
The corruption accused Gumede was recalled by the ANC last month.

ANC provincial spokesperson, Ricardo Mthembu says today's meeting should clear the way for the new mayor to take up office.The ANC in the province announced last month that it had redeployed all its members serving on Executive Committees at eThekwini and Msunduzi. Performance was cited by the party as the reason behind the swinging axe.
Msunduzi has since elected new leaders. However, the municipality remains under administration.

Gumede faces corruption-related charges in connection with a multi-million Rand waste tender deal dating back to 2016.She was granted bail of R50,000 and is due to return to court early next year.
