Radebe appeared in the Durban Magistrate's court on Tuesday.
He's now facing three charges, which include attempted murder, pointing and
discharging a firearm and intimidation.
Over a week ago, Radebe fired several gunshots at the party's branch launch in
Ward 25, resulting in the event's cancellation.
The 34-year-old is due back in court next month for a formal bail application.
"This man must account and must be the example in all sectors of
KwaZulu-Natal and communities that intolerance will never be allowed in this
province,” said provincial leader Zwakele Mncwango.
“And also we must allow democracy to take its cause. Especially because we are
going towards an election time.
“In KZN we know there has been political killings and has been high level of
threats during elections and we believe that the state must set example using
Xolani."
