Abahlali march for land in Durban CBD
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
Dozens of residents are today marching in Durban to highlight the struggle faced by informal residents in the city.

Shack dwellers' movement, Abahlali baseMjondolo handed over a memorandum to eThekwini - underlining issues of land and dignity.
The movement claims its leaders continue to be killed and oppressed. Spokesperson, Sbu Zikode says they rallied support in all provinces.
"Many of us have been forced to live in hiding because of the threats that we receive so today, it's the day to say for too long we have been organising as a democratic formation committed to peace only to be killed with impunity," he said.
Meanwhile, metalworkers' union, NUMSA is standing in solidarity with Abahlali.
"The failure from the side of the law to actually arrest community leaders particularly those who are in government - as long as thereare no arrest then we will not be able to make people accountable," NUMSA's Mbuso Ngubane said.
