2017 Year in Review: Chaos erupts during Durban protest marches

Chaotic scenes unfolded in Durban on the 7th of April when two political parties staged protest marches through the city.
Violent scenes erupted when the ANC Youth League allegedly started targeting DA supporters.

DA supporters had been taking part in the local leg of the People's March, while the ANC Youth League's march was in support of President Jacob Zuma and over calls for ABSA to 'Pay Back the Money'.
Around 2,000 ANC Youth League supporters, who had been heading to an ABSA branch in the CBD, veered off course and headed to North beach where the DA-led march ended.

The police had to intervene and fire stun grenades to disperse the crowds when some participants of the DA march came under attack.
