2017 Year in Review: 20 killed in KwaXimba taxi crash

KwaZulu-Natal mourned the deaths of 20 worshippers in August following a horrific crash in the KwaXimba area, near Cato Ridge.
The minibus veered off the road and crashed down an embankment.
Officials said the crash was the result of human error, saying the overloaded vehicle's brakes failed.

A mass funeral was held for the victims, with senior ANC officials, including Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and Zweli Mkhize as well as eThekwini mayor Zandile Gumede attending the ceremony.

Police said the driver of the minibus faces 20 counts of culpable homicide.
