R102 Tongaat crash claims one life
KwaZulu-Natal emergency services have just freed a critically injured man who was trapped in a car following a collision in Tongaat.
One other person has been killed in the crash on the R102 .
IPSS Medical Rescue's Paul Herbst says the car collided head on with a truck carrying quarry sand.
The man is being rushed to hospital.
"On arrival, we found that both driver and passenger of a light motor vehicle collided with a truck and was severely entrapped. Unfortunately, the driver of the vehicle had already succumbed to his traumatic injuries and was declared [dead] shortly after arrival.

"The passenger was cared for by LenMed eThekwini hospital. Once freed, the patient was transferred to a private hospital and received the treatment they urgently required," Herbst said.
