Search continues for missing Sunningdale woman
Emergency services will this morning continue with their search for a missing Sunningdale woman who was last seen on Monday.
It's believed 62-year-old Brenda Lynn Scriven was swept away by floodwaters.
Her son-in-law Lee Swales says the family first grew suspicious when Scriven did not arrive home from work at her usual time.
"We appear to have found some footage which may indicate that the car she was driving was in some mechanical trouble and, without being a hundred percent certain, it looks like she might have been caught up with some of that flood water. At this stage we don't know," he said.
Her empty vehicle was found in Glen Anil in Durban North. Severe weather has seen the search called off twice in 2 days.
"We are very close, its a close-knit family. We have young children and it could be very difficult to explain what's quiet going on to them but at this point we are just hanging on for a miracle," said Swales.
