New record rainfall in July for Durban

The South African Weather Service says 162 millimetres of rainfall was recorded from its Virginia station north of Durban between Monday and Tuesday.
Forecaster Julius Mahlangu says it's a new record for the month of July for Durban.
"Between Sunday and Monday, Virgina recorded 49.8mm and between Monday and Tuesday it recorded 162mm and between yesterday morning and this morning it was 59.4mm," he said.
Mahlangu says at their Durban South station, 54.8mm was recorded between 8am on Sunday and 8am on Monday, 99.6mm between Monday and yesterday and 101.2mm between yesterday and 8am this morning.
Meanwhile, iSimangaliso Wetland Park has received its highest level of rainfall since 1971.
312.9mm of rainfall has been recorded at the St. Lucia Estuary for the month of July so far.
The uMfolozi River level has risen by 37mm this morning alone.
In Sodwana Bay between30 and 40mm of rain fell this morning.
