Tyla secures another Billboard Hot 100 song
Updated | By Music Reporter
'Chanel' has debuted on America's main singles chart.
Tyla's latest single, 'Chanel', is a certified Billboard Hot 100 hit. The song is closing out 2025 with an appearance on the Hot 100's final chart of the year.
'Chanel', which was released in October, has debuted at #94. It's the South African singer's third single to feature on the chart.
Her first smash hit, 'Water', peaked at #7 while her Grammy-nominated song, 'Push 2 Start', reached #88. While Tyla is the queen of America's Afrobeats chart, making it onto the Hot 100 is no small feat.
Only a handful of South Africans, including Miriam Makeba and Hugh Masekela, have featured on the Hot 100 since it started over 60 years ago.
'Chanel' has also been making music history. The song debuted at No.1 on both the U.S. and UK Afrobeats charts.
She is the first artist to have a single simultaneously debut #1 on both charts.
Tyla's latest hit has been making significant gains on streaming platforms over the past few weeks, with some help from the song's viral dance challenge.
'Sister Sister' actress Tamera Mowry-Housley is the latest celebrity to hop on the trend, following in the footsteps of R&B singer Ciara and Bollywood star Jacqueline Fernandez.
Mowry-Housley and her daughter Ariah wore matching Christmas pyjamas while dancing in their living room.
"Not pictured: The other 10 takes we did! So much fun dancing with my girl in our matching Christmas PJs!"
Tyla's fans can expect more music and more hits in 2026.
Earlier this year, Tyla revealed that she is hard at work on her second album. The project was initially expected to drop in 2025.
“I had more time to work on this album than I did the first, so I have a lot of songs. It feels really current — this time, I’m living what I’m singing, and it feels way more personal. Way more like me," she told Variety.
