Trevor Noah is getting ready for the next chapter of his career by saying goodbye to his lavish New York penthouse. The 38-year-old has lived in the two-floor Manhattan duplex for several years.

The building is just a five-minute walk away from the studios where 'The Daily Show' is recorded. Trevor is bidding farewell to the show after seven years at the helm.

According to Architectural Digest, Trevor bought his penthouse in 2017 for a cool $10-million (R130-million at the time). He is now selling the recently renovated apartment for $12.95-million (R230-million).

The three-bedroom home is located on the 17th and 18th floors. Trevor's master suite takes up the entire second floor! There's also a 930-square-foot wraparound terrace for entertaining his famous friends and family.

Trevor's last day on 'The Daily Show' is set to take place on December 8.

"Noah has moved 'The Daily Show' seamlessly from insightful, hilarious satire to serious, provocative conversations, meeting society’s moments of unrest and uncertainty with clarity and conviction," Comedy Central said in a statement.

Trevor said being stuck in his apartment during the COVID-19 pandemic made him realise he wanted to spend more time making people laugh with his stand-up comedy shows.

"We have laughed together, we have cried together. But after seven years, I feel like it’s time... I spent two years in my apartment, not on the road. Stand-up was done, and when I got back out there again, I realised that there’s another part of my life that I want to carry on exploring," he said at the time.

The comedian has scores of comedy shows lined up in 2023, including a stop in South Africa.
