Shekhinah celebrates being a mom in beautiful pregnancy post
Congratulations are in order for South African songbird Shekhinah, who celebrated the birth of her daughter with a stunning pregnancy shoot.
It’s been three months since Shekhinah welcomed her baby girl, and the new mom has now given fans a glimpse into her pregnancy journey.
The musician surprised her followers when she shared a beautiful pregnancy shoot on Instagram, having kept her pregnancy a secret.
In a nod to her song with Kyle Deutsch, 'Back to the Beach,' Shekhinah shared photos from her seaside maternity shoot, posing with her long hair flowing and her baby bump on full display.
'The magic that is pregnancy'
The singer took to Instagram to celebrate three months since her baby girl’s arrival.
“We are so lucky to have you with us, baby girl. I’m leaving these pictures here as a forever reminder of the magic that is pregnancy and a timestamp to when life changed forever for the better.
“By God’s grace, you are here and more precious than we could have asked for. Happy three months to our favourite girl,” she wrote.
Many celebrities, including Grammy Award-winning artist Una Rams, Bonang Matheba, Boity, DJ Zinhle, Nandi Madida, Lady Zamar and Elaine, took to the comment section to congratulate the new mom.
"Whoooahh!!! congratulations — sis really took it back to the beach," said Una Rams.
"Aw mami. Welcome to it. May you and your family be abundantly blessed," wrote DJ Zinhle.
Shekhinah, whose full name is Shekhinah Thandi Donnell, is a multi-award-winning South African singer and songwriter.
The 31-year-old has largely kept her relationship status private. However, in June, rumours surfaced that the musician was dating rapper K.O. The two have never publicly confirmed or denied the dating rumours.
She rose to fame after finishing in the Top 32 of Idols South Africa in 2011.
Her debut studio album, 'Rose Gold', was released in 2017 and went multi-platinum.
Over the years, Shekhinah has also won several South African Music Awards and MTV Africa Music Awards.
Some of her popular songs include, 'Suited' and 'Please Mr'.
