US star Raven-Symoné has shared her appreciation for Durban and South Africa, describing the country as “warm and inviting” while filming 'Cheetah Girls: Next Gen'.
US actress, singer, songwriter and executive producer Raven-Symoné is soaking up her time in South Africa while filming Cheetah Girls: Next Gen.
The 'That's So Raven' star, who has visited both Cape Town and Durban, spoke particularly fondly about her time in the KwaZulu-Natal coastal city.
“When I tell you the beauty that is in this country and all over, I’ve been to Durban, and there too, the beauty of it, the earth itself,” she said told Cape Town radio station Good Hope FM
The 'That's So Raven' star added that her experience of South Africa has challenged some of the misconceptions about the country that are often portrayed in the US.
The actress also praised the South Africans she has worked with on the production, saying the positive energy on set has been noticeable.
“Everyone on the set of Cheetah Girls has been saying the same thing, that it feels correct here. You guys have a wonderful energy,” she said.
Raven-Symoné acknowledged that, like every country, South Africa has its challenges, but encouraged locals to appreciate the beauty that exists around them.
“Every country has their ups and downs, and we get to see the most beautiful part of it. If you’re worried about your country, I understand, but just know you have a wonderful thing going on here. It feels great,” she said.
