The South African Music Awards announced their nominees on Thursday, 9 July.

Prince Kaybee is leading the way with four nominations. He is followed by Rapper K.O. who bagged himself three nominations.

Although congratulations are pouring in for the nominees, many people took to social media to complain about why Master KG and Makhadzi were not nominated. Some people said the SAMAs discriminates against Limpopo artists, as the two are both from Limpopo.

Master KG released the single ‘Jerusalema’, which has over 35-million views on YouTube, and has been dominating the charts.

Makhadzi also released the biggest hit of 2019 ‘Matorokisi’, which was well-received even outside of South Africa. But, despite their songs being a huge success, they did not receive any SAMA nominations.

The two complained that the SAMAs are refusing to recognise their hard work and success.

"Congratulations To all The #SAMA26 Nominee's Big Love. I Will Keep Working Hard Untill The day The Recognize Me," Master KG tweeted.

Makhadzi also added that it was heart-breaking not to be recognised.

“Congratulations to all @TheSAMAs  nominees..so said for not being recognized Broken heart  after  what matorokisi did  to AFRICANS last year..to all my fans I submitted everything is just that ndinga ndoneta tshinyama Loudly crying face..  Your love and support matters,” Makhadzi tweeted.
