'FINALLY...I come back home': Dwayne Johnson makes return to WWE

The Rock is coming home! Dwayne Johnson's fans are celebrating news of his comeback.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is set to make an epic return to the WWE ring after six years. 

The 47-year-old will appear on Fox's WWE Smackdown premiere on Friday, October 4. 

The Rock shared the exciting news on Twitter.

"FINALLY...I come back home to my @WWE universe. This FRIDAY NIGHT, I’ll return for our debut of SMACKDOWN! LIVE on @FOXTV. There’s no greater title than #thepeopleschamp. And there’s no place like home. Tequila on me after the show. #IfYaSmell #Smackdown #RocksShow  #FOX," he wrote.

The last time Dwayne appeared on WWE's Smackdown on was January 2013. 

He has been busy making blockbuster movies ever since. 

Some of his films include 'Furious 7', 'Moana',  'The Fate of the Furious', 'Baywatch',  'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' and 'Skyscraper' and 'Hobbs & Shaw'.

Dwayne, who is now one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood, will appear in 'Jumanji: The Next Level' in December 2019.

He announced his retirement from professional wrestling earlier in August but it seems he just couldn't stay away from the ring. 

The Smackdown premiere will be screened in South Africa on SuperSport (DStv 204) on Saturday at 2am.
