Three hurt after fire breaks out in Durban CBD building
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Two people have been hurt - with a third critically so - after a fire broke out at their residential building in the Durban CBD last night.
Rescue Care Paramedics along with the Durban Fire Department responded to the incident after receiving a call. Rescue Care's Ceron Lennox says when they arrived the building was still alight.
"The Durban Fire Department was also on scene extinguishing the flames. Three people were found on the sidewalk. Two of them had minor injuries while a third person was in a critical condition," she said.
"Advanced Life Support Paramedics intervened and all three of them were transported to a nearby hospital," Lennox said.
"The fire was then put out roughly about an hour after the injured were transported through to hospital," she said.
"Some of the residents had been running in and out of the building trying to salvage some of their belongings," Lennox said.
