SONA 2016: 'Free education is still a priority'

President Jacob Zuma says free education is still a priority and government will continue to explore all possibilities.
Zuma briefly touched on the Fees Must Fall campaign during his State of the Nation Address in Parliament last night. Higher education funding has become a huge talking point with several protest marches last year.

"The Minister of Finance will provide the details of education shortfall funding in the budget speech. I have appointed a judicial commission of inquiry into higher education. We urge all stakeholders to co-operate with the commission and help ensure its success," he said.
