Santaco urges taxi operators to comply with tax processes
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Taxi operators are being urged to fully comply with processes that will see them pay tax in order to continue running their businesses.
Taxi council Santaco says some operators pay tax through an operators' license, but others seem to fall through the system.
The council in KwaZulu-Natal's Bonga Zondi says some operators are not legally registered or do not do proper bookkeeping.
''At the transportation body in Pietermaritzburg, they do not give you an operating licence which is the requirement to operate a taxi, unless you have submitted your tax clearance.
"Use the right bookkeeper, make sure that the bookkeeper you are using is the right bookkeeper and is the right accountant.
