'Minister Gordhan should be retained in his position'
Updated | By Christopher Motabogi
Wits University's head of Management Sciences says removing Finance Minster Pravin Gordhan from his position will threaten the country's credit ratings.
Professor Jannie Rossouw feels it's important that the Minister delivers his Medium-term Budget Policy Statement unhindered.
Gordhan will deliver his mini-budget speech tomorrow afternoon.
The minister and two of his former SARS colleagues, Ivan Pillay and Oupa Magashula are facing fraud charges.

The charge relates to the approval of Pillay's early retirement. Rossouw says South Africa needs to tread carefully.
"It's necessary for the sake of stability in South Africa that Minister Gordhan should be retained in his position as Minister of Finance. Also because South Africa faces a credit risk rating in December and these credit risk agencies want stability," he said.
