Mentor's Facebook page briefly blocked
The Facebook page of a former ANC MP who dropped a bombshell this week with claims that she was offered a ministerial job by the Guptas was shut down for a while today.
It's not known who was responsible for blocking Vytjie Mentor's Facebook page, but once it was active again, she referred to those behind the shutdown as 'scoundrels' in a post.
Mentor's page is where she made the initial allegations about the Guptas.
Over the last two days, she followed it up with a number of posts containing details the apparent meeting at the Guptas's Saxonwold mansion.
She claims to have been offered the Public Enterprises job in 2010, about a week before former minister Barbara Hogan was fired.
Mentor says the job offer was on the condition that she cancels an SAA route to India in order to allow the Guptas to operate it.
President Jacob Zuma is said to have been present but in another room, when the offer was made to Mentor.
Earlier today, yet another senior ANC member has come forward with a claim involving the controversial Gupta family.
Ngoako Ramatlhodi says he was invited to dinner by the family.
According to his personal advisor, Mahlodi Muofhe, the invitation came a few days after Ramatlhodi was appointed to his previous portfolio of Minister of Mineral Resources.
He says he turned down the invitation.
Ramatlhodi was replaced as Mineral Resources minister last year and replaced by Mosebenzi Zwane.
There have been claims Zwane is a 'Gupta appointee'.
Ramatlhodi is now the Public Service and Administration minister.
His revelation comes in the wake of yesterday's admission by Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas that the Guptas offered him the position of Finance Minister to replace Nhlanhla Nene, which he declined.
It's also come out today that Jonas received a threatening sms before going public with the confirmation of the job offer.
During today's Q&A session in Parliament, Zuma told the House there is no minister that has ever been appointed by the Guptas nor by anybody else but him.
"If Jonas says he was offered [a job] by the Guptas, I think he will be well-placed to ask the Guptas or Jonas. Don't ask me. Where do I come in? I had no business with that. I had absolutely no business. Those are the people you must ask," Zuma said.
The Guptas have denied all allegations, challenging those making the claims against them to give sworn statements.
