At least 20 injured in Durban North bus crash
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
Emergency services say the vehicles crashed into each other along Chris Hani Road in the vicinity of Old North Coast Road.
Netcare911's Chris Botha says the roof of one of the buses was torn off the vehicle.
"The roof of one of the buses actually sheared off completely and was lying next to the bus.
"This caused about twenty people to get injuries, ranging from serious to minor.
"Paramedics from various services are on scene at the moment busy stabilising the injured and transporting them to nearby hospitals.
"The roadway now is severely obstructed and traffic is backed up quite a long way" he said.
It's unclear what lead to the collision.
Meanwhile, a collision involving two taxis near Isipingo, south of Durban has left one man hurt.
ER24 says the driver of one of the taxis was injured.
The vehicles crashed on the M35.
