KZN Transport MEC Mxolisi Kaunda is expected to lead the funeral.

A 3-month-old baby and a 3-year-old toddler were among those killed in the crash.

Seven people including the driver survived.

Authorities say the driver has been charged with culpable homicide. It's still unclear what caused the bakkie to veer off the road.

Transport's Kwanele Ncalane says the department has been assisting the affecting families with funeral costs and accessing the Road Accident Fund.

"The MEC will use this occasion to further outline our plans as the provincial government to deal with the increasing scourge of fatalities and road crashes. The MEC will be there, on behalf of the provincial government to convey this message" he said.
