Fund established to help journalists needing legal protection
Updated | By JacarandaFm News
The reinstated SABC journalists have started a media protection fund.
The SABC Fund for the Protection of Journalists will be dispersed among reporters needing legal protection as well as social and psychological support.
Thandeka Gcubele says crowd sourcing helped them while they were fighting to get their jobs back.
"Basically it is a struggle for freedom of expression and in it we have had the support of many people. We would like to thank all of those people who have become friends and comrades on this journey, especially on the activist front," she said.
