The women on the Recording Academy Executive Committee take a stand

The Grammy Awards have released a statement on behalf of its Women's Executive Committee.

Grammy

The female executive committee has released a joint statement regarding where they stand in terms of how the Academy represents its artists and creatives. The statement outlines how the committee feels about diversity and equal representation of all groups. It continues to reveal how they are tackling these issues through the partnership with the Diversity and Inclusion Task Force. This statement follows the allegations brought forward by Deborah Dugan, claiming that she has "evidence" that the Grammy Awards process is "ripe with corruption".

Taking from what's said in the statement, the committee is assuring everyone that they stand for fairness and if there are any allegations or accusations brought forward to them, they plan to address them accordingly.

Part of the statement reads as follows: "As women, voting members, creative artists and entrepreneurs who serve on the Board of Trustees of the Recording Academy, we are deeply committed to this organization and its affiliates and the good work that is done beyond the GRAMMY Awards – advocating for artists’ rights, providing critical assistance for music people in times of need and educating, mentoring and inspiring the next generation of music makers"
