'Boujee' Avocado Ritz in a coupe glass recipe

Christmas might be over, but the festive season is far from over. The biggest party of the year is just a few days away.

If you are throwing a New Year's Eve party, then this Avocado Ritz recipe would make an excellent starter.

Avocado Ritz is a South African favourite that has featured on local restaurant menus for decades. The dish is made with two of our favourite things: avocado and prawns (or shrimp).

Food blogger Landi Govender put a fancy twist on the recipe by making it in a coupe glass.

"Lunch felt a bit boujee today — Avocado Ritz in a coupe glass!" the food blogger said about the recipe. "So simple, but so festive."

Lettuce
Avocado
Cherry tomatoes
Steamed prawns
Cocktail/seafood sauce

Govender's Avocado Ritz recipe was inspired by food content creator Dine with Tasha

It's one of several recipes Tasha has shared on her page during the festive season. She says Avocado Ritz is one of her favourite starters to serve during the holidays

"I always serve some variation of an Avocado Ritz as a starter at Christmas," she wrote on Instagram. "This one is made with the traditional Marie Rose sauce."

Tasha also adds habanero and pink peppercorns to her recipe, which she says is a must-try.
