More and more women are finding themselves having to deliver their babies through C-section. According to a 2019 report by Bhekisisa's website, 26% of babies born in South African public hospitals are born by caesarean.

This could be out of preference or due to complications with the pregnancy or delivery.

However, C-section births can come with a lot of complications.

According to Mayo clinic, some of the complications include:

- Risk of developing an infection of the lining of the uterus (endometritis).

- Postpartum hemorrhage.

- Reactions to anesthesia.

- Blood clots.

- Wound infection.

- Surgical injury.

- Increased risks during future pregnancies.

One of the celebrities who recently had to deliver her baby through C-section and is having complications after the operation is Jennifer Bala.

The mother of three opened up about how hard it has been to adjust since giving birth through C-section, especially because she has to juggle work and being a mom.

"Taking time to adjust to my new normal, while hubby is also out of town.  Juggling a working from home #momlife…all while trying to recover from my cesarean," she wrote on Instagram.

She added that her C-section left her with "some minor complications".

She says she was told she had a severe bacterial infection.

"Got called into the Gynae’s rooms today because apparently my lab results indicated I had a severe, extremely resistant, bacterial infection that can only be treated by an IV antibiotic for which one has to be admitted into hospital!" she wrote.

"Thank God, my incision tells a different story so I am able to stay home and heal without any further meds or anything," Bala wrote.

The entrepreneur says tough situations make her more grateful for everything that's going well.

"I guess these day to day challenges keep us on our toes and makes us all the more grateful for our blessings and everything that’s going well or could be worse," she wrote.
