Mother, daughter (2) die in Chatsworth home collapse

It's all hands on deck for emergency services across KwaZulu-Natal and the greater Durban area. Large parts of the province were struck by severe storms and heavy rains last night.
The bodies of a 17-year-old woman and her 2-year-old daughter have been pulled from the rubble in the Bottlebrush area of Chatsworth.
Emergency services have their hands full this morning, attending to several structural collapses.
Seven bodies have now been recovered from a home in Ellen Road in Malvern - near Queensburgh.
Four of the family members' bodies were recovered last night, while the remaining three were located earlier today. Five people also died at a school in Westcliffe - where a caretaker's house collapsed.

Newswatch understands that crews are still searching for more people there.
In Chatsworth, emergency services have managed to recover the bodies of 17-year-old Ntokozo Duma and her 2-year-old daughter - Siyathanda.
Neighbours say they had already died by the time they were found in the rubble. Police and disaster management officials are still scouring the scene.

The death toll across the province looks set to increase beyond the figure of 23 confirmed fatalities given by COGTA earlier today - as rescuers continue with their work.
