Two of the world’s top choreographers, Amy Morgan and Betty Rox, whose credits include Beyonce, Rihanna, and Kendrick Lamar, will be hosting dancehall and jazz Dance Workshops in Durban this weekend at the Durban Exhibition Centre.

The artists are being brought to Durban by Power in Dance, in association with UNITY South Africa.

“The first 90-minute workshop will be run by Betty Rox who originates from the islands of Belize and Jamaica.  Known as ‘The Jamaican Dance Hall Queen,’ Betty’s style is an energetic explosion of hip-hop rhythm, soul, and street-cred, which will be very popular amongst our diverse Durban cultures,” commented UNITY founder and Durban choreographer, Jemma van Breda.

UNITY founder, Jemma van Breda, who was selected for a USA dance scholarship three years ago by Jazz Queen, Amy Morgan said that her dream and vision for the UNITY platform, of bringing international talent to Durban to uplift the skills of local performers, has been realized with this weekend’s staging of the first of many international UNITY workshops.  UNITY is working in association with Johannesburg-based ‘Power in Dance,’ to bring the artists to Durban.

The event takes place next Sunday, 18th March at the Durban Exhibition Centre (Hall 6).

Betty Rox workshop will be between 14:30 - 16.00 and Amy Morgan will be between 16:15 - 17:45
