Q&A with Gordon Graham

1.    Where were you born?

I was born in Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal.

2.    What do you love about radio as a medium?

It's immediate and it's pure theatre of the mind!

3.    How do you listen to East Coast Gold? 

I listen on the East Coast Radio App.

4.    Who has influenced you the most in your life?

My biggest influence is my Father, a great man.

5.       If you were a musician, who would you most like to collaborate with?

Eric Clapton. I'd love to have jammed with him on the unplugged stage.

6.       When you were little, what did you want to be?

I wanted to be a Pro tennis player and Radio DJ. One of those came true!

7.       What motivates you to get up every morning?

My family. I want the best life for them. I have 3 girls that I want to live full and happy lives, that and the fact that I love my job.

8.       If you had to be on a reality TV show, which one would you choose?

Tough one. Sport is the ultimate reality TV so playing in the Wimbledon finals! Other than that I have always loved America’s Got Talent.

9.       If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be?

Wow you ask the tough questions, I travel a lot so there are many options. I really like Austria and reckon I'd do a year in Austria touring.

10.   Where did you grow up?

Good old Gauteng. My parents moved us there just after I arrived, so Jhb was the place.

11.    Toilet paper, over or under?

Over, obviously.

12.    Were your parents strict?

Dad yes, Mom not so much. She helped us get past Dad. :-)

13.    What do you most like about getting older?

My sore knees. No, just kidding! I would have to say being a father. I get to watch my little people grow to become who they are meant to be. Oh that and I get to do the things that I couldn’t when young and inexperienced!

14.    What book are you currently reading?

Anything by fictional author Dick Francis who writes detective thriller novels set in England.

15.    Who are your all-time favourite music artists?

Bryan Adams, INXS, Eric Clapton, U2 and.. and.. and...

16.    Who are your top three real life heroes?

My Dad, Roger Federer and anyone who runs Comrades Marathon!
