George Harrison was a man whose music changed the world. He dominated the music industry from the 1960s until the 1980s. 

Harrison became popular as a member of The Beatles. 

He was ranked number 11 of Rolling Stone magazine's  '100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time'. 

The star is a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee – as a member of the Beatles in 1988, and posthumously for his solo career in 2004.

  1. He began playing the guitar in secondary school.

  2. The first band he joined was Quarrymen - a rock band that was formed by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. This band was later changed to be called The Beatles.

  3. During 1971, Harrison held two concerts to raise funds for the fight against starvation in Bangladesh.

  4. An intruder attacked him in his home in 1999 and stabbed him multiple times, but he survived.

  5. Harrison suffered health complications. He suffered throat cancer, lung cancer, and a brain tumour.

  6. He wrote ‘Here Comes The Sun’ in Eric Clapton's garden.

  7. His three most popular songs are 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps',  'Here Comes the Sun', and 'Something'.
